WABS is the product of an unconventional career journey.
Our Head of Digital Strategy & Marketing, Wambui Kuria, holds a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology. She began her professional career in manufacturing, progressing from Quality Assurance Analyst to Senior Quality Control Analyst over seven years, from 2013 to 2019. She worked across NipNap Ltd (Premium Hygiene Products), Tropical Heat Group and Safepak Limited, gaining hands-on experience in quality systems, compliance, root-cause analysis, customer complaints, SOPs and continuous improvement.
Those years in manufacturing are an important part of the WABS story. Before she was developing marketing strategies, Wambui was already learning how to understand systems, investigate problems, work across teams, maintain standards and focus on measurable outcomes. That operational discipline continues to shape how she approaches marketing today.
Her move into digital marketing came later. What began with content marketing, SEO and website development evolved into brand strategy, digital transformation and commercial growth. Over the past several years, Wambui has worked with 20+ brands, senior professionals, founders and organizations across Kenya and internationally, helping them clarify their positioning, strengthen their digital presence and build marketing systems designed to generate demand. Her consulting experience includes Mopeck Investments, Maiyan Homes, Eseriani Hotels & Resort and Eminent Media Inc. in Canada, among others.
But the journey was not only professional. Wambui also built her own digital presence from the ground up, growing an audience of more than 30,000 LinkedIn followers and a 20,000+ subscriber newsletter. Her willingness to share her own experiences and perspectives on work, entrepreneurship and building a career outside traditional employment eventually led to features across podcasts, radio and print media.
Beyond the work we do for clients, Wambui is deeply passionate about helping young people and women use the digital age to build stronger careers, create opportunities and become economically independent. Mentorship is an important part of that mission. Through the CEOs, founders and organizations WABS works with, she is intentional about connecting talented young people and women to opportunities, practical experience and people who can help them grow.
That commitment also led to the introduction of our recruitment wing. We believe access to opportunity should not be pay-to-play for job seekers. We do not charge job seekers to have their CVs in our database. We also support candidates through CV revamps and recommendations, helping them present their skills and experience more effectively when relevant opportunities arise.
Wambui's message to the people she mentors goes beyond digital skills. She consistently speaks about resilience, character, the right attitude and practical skills as essential ingredients for building a meaningful career. For her, digital platforms can open the door, but who you are, how you work and your willingness to learn, adapt and keep going are what help you stay in the room.
That journey is central to how we think about branding at WABS.
We do not believe marketing is simply about posting consistently, chasing trends or making a business look good online. It is about knowing what you want to be known for, communicating your value clearly, building market trust and creating a digital presence that opens doors to real business opportunities.
Today, WABS brings together brand strategy, digital marketing, content, websites and marketing systems to help businesses, professionals and organizations move from simply being visible online to becoming credible, trusted and commercially relevant.
Because the same principle that shaped Wambui's journey shapes our work with every client: your experience, expertise and story already have value. The right strategy helps the market see it.
Most businesses do not struggle because they lack talent. Most businesses struggle because they build the wrong systems too early.
Some hire too soon. Some outsource without understanding what their business actually needs. Some invest heavily in marketing execution while completely ignoring the strategy behind growth. And over time, this creates frustration.
The problem is rarely effort. The problem is usually structure.
At WABS, we exist because we saw a recurring pattern among growing businesses. Many founders and organizations were spending money on marketing activities — but very few were building actual systems designed to support long-term growth.
The issue was never simply marketing execution. The issue was strategy. And that is where WABS was born.
Not every business needs the same marketing solution.
Traditional agencies often approach every client with the same mindset — you need social media management, you need a website, you need ads, you need graphic design, you need content creation. But business growth is never that simple.
A startup business should not market the same way an established business markets. A founder who is still understanding their offer should not outsource marketing too early. A growing business should not hire internally without understanding how to structure a marketing department properly.
Every business is at a different stage. Which means every business requires a different growth strategy.
At WABS, we help businesses identify what stage they are currently in and then build the right marketing system around that stage. Because growth does not happen through random activity. Growth happens when strategy drives execution.
We believe marketing should never begin with execution. Yet this is where most businesses make their first expensive mistake. The moment a business owner decides growth is slowing down, the immediate reaction becomes:
But these decisions are often made without understanding what the business actually needs.
At WABS, we believe businesses need clarity before execution. Because execution without strategy becomes expensive very quickly. This is why our entire company is built around one central philosophy.
Before businesses hire. Before businesses outsource. Before businesses invest in ads. Before businesses build internal teams. There must be clarity.
This philosophy drives everything we do.
To help businesses build the right marketing systems based on where they are currently in their growth journey. We believe businesses should never waste money on the wrong strategy. Our mission is to help organizations build clarity before execution so every marketing investment contributes to sustainable growth.
To become Africa's most trusted strategic growth partner for businesses serious about building brands, attracting clients consistently, and creating scalable marketing systems designed for long-term success.
